A short distance west of Port Denarau is a group of idyllic islands and atolls known as the Mamanucas (pronounced 'Ma-ma-noo-thas').

This area is a playground for divers, surfers and fishermen alike, and has a variety of resorts and activities catering for everyone from the budget traveller and families through to exclusive couples-only resorts. 

Tom Hanks' movie "Castaway" was filmed here on Modriki Island, in the outer reaches of the group. You can visit Modriki today on-board the 'Seaspray' day sailing adventure from Port Denarau.
